They say that watch collecting is a journey, and if that’s the case, then our latest collaboration is nothing short of a trip. As part of our continuing series of watch collaborations curated by John Mayer, we’re thrilled to announce a special limited edition G-SHOCK Ref. 5600 by Online Ceramics for Hodinkee. For those of you who don’t know Online Ceramics, the outfit is a design house based in Los Angeles that has developed a cult following for playful, trippy, and often tie-dyed designs.

Beloved for their Dead & Co T-shirt designs, Online Ceramic was founded in 2016 by Elijah Funk and Alix Ross. From the brand’s website to its endlessly creative and always evolving designs, Online Ceramics has carved its own path, forming a perspective that has helped to create a truly unique, lighthearted, and playful take on the G-SHOCK 5600. It’s the easiest-wearing model that G-SHOCK produces, and like a white T-shirt and tie-dye, it’s a perfect canvas for the creative, almost altered-state beauty of Online Ceramics.

Speaking of a cult following, the G-SHOCK 5600 sits at the core of the G-SHOCK international lineup and has been the canvas for myriad past collaborations with artists, musicians, streetwear icons, and more. Rendered in a deep forest green, the strap of this special 5600 is emblazoned with “Online Ceramics” in a psychedelic white font that leads to the dial, where we find that the screen is surrounded by yellow, red, and orange accents as well as Online Ceramic’s snail logo.

Framing the green case, bright yellow text reads “Sun Watch, Moon Time” and “Mushroom House Haunted Wagon,” further solidifying the Online Ceramics vibe for a 5600 that feels like a walk into some very strange woods. But there’s one final easter egg ready for any explorer who presses the button for the backlight, revealing a special design on the screen. This message can only be seen when the backlight is glowing and reads “Love Grows In The Sunshine.”
